Setting up ftp to work with wordpress with mamp pro to install plugins

This really confused me wordpress wouldn't allow me to ftp anf download plugins etc

Solution go into your root folder Sites or htdocs and set the correct permissions


sudo chown -R www *


Refresh wordpress and you should be good to go
